Hi, I activated the 2 step verification in my gmail account. After this modify, the "send mail" action doesn't work.

E: 18/02/2022 13:26:40: Error occurred: Application-specific password required. Learn more at
E: 18/02/2022 13:26:40: https://support.google.com/mail/?p=InvalidSecondFactor 9sm2235513ejk.28 - gsmtp
E: 18/02/2022 13:26:40: An error occurred. Step #24 (Send Email).
E: 18/02/2022 13:26:40: Task execution is aborted

Deactivating the 2 step verification it works.

Can this be solved in any way?

P.S. (I need the 2 step verification because it's obligatory using google ads)

If your turn ON 2 step verification on Google your general password will not work in Gmail when you use non-Google applications (Thunderbird, RoboTask and so on)
You must generate new formal password if you want to access your Gmail account from 3-rd party applications.
Go to you Google account security: https://myaccount.google.com/security
and use this option (see screenshot) to add new password for your Gmail account for other applications.

I'm having the same but inverse problem. Roughly around last week all of the "send email" steps stopped working from a gmail account I created specifically to trigger notifications for scripts. I don't have 2 factor enabled for this gmail account but out of seemingly no where Robotask generates a log message stating that "error occurred: Username and Password not accepted". I've been using these email steps for 2 years with no issues. I tried updating the gmail password but it didn't change the error message (after updating the SMTP server / mail agent tab for the send email action).

Looks like Google turned on two-factor authentication without your consent. They warned about it.
Google applications work without changes. But a third party application must be configured for this.

How can I do ?
  • Go to Google account settings
  • Click on "2-step verification" (enter your password if prompted)
  • In opened page go to the bottom and find "App passwords" chapter
Here you can make access passwords for Email programs and other non-Google applications

Hello Oley,
Thanks, I found it through your instruction now and I will use it to download eMAIL's attachment later.
Hope I can find some useful example here.
