Would be nice to have an interface to an excel sheet in order to read / write variables or results.

Agreed, This is something I have with a couple of other script programs and makes coding very nice. Is there a possibility of seeing this any time soon?

Also it would be nice to have possibility to refresh all data in pivot and from external sources...

Excel interface will be in next release. Now we are writing this plugin.
