Creating New Tasks Automatically

Post by soflojo »

Hi I just started using Robotask and just getting used to
the program. So far I like the possibilities!

I downloaded the "move file by 1st letter" task template and
was able to edit this to fit my needs.

Basically, I created a standard sub folder list for each of
my clients to include: Accounting items, plans, documents
etc. And based on a code structure (00, 01, 02, 20, 21, etc)
I was able to get files to automatically sort into these
folders that I created by following that example.

Now I want to go further and be able to have files realize
which client folder to go to first and then sort into those
respective folders. As each client has the same set of
folders.

Also, when I create a new client I would like a dialogue box
to pop up and allow me to enter information that will
automatically create all the necessary folders and sub
folders for that client in addition to editing the task file
to include the new client code.

Does anyone have a good idea how to structure this? I was
thinking I create tasks for each main folder sort. Starting
from the top:
- Create client form dialogue to create Client Folders and
edit the Task A: "client sort task" and create a new Task
B:"Folder within client sort task"
- Task A: Client Sort Task
- Task B: Folder within each client Sort Task

Task A: will be the main and only file sorter task that will
be edited each time a new client is made to include the
query of that client code.
Task B will be duplicated for each client folder created.
And maybe named by the client code?

OR Maybe all this can be done in one single task file?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks for your help!
