image manipulation

Post by photoevents »

Hello,

Is it possible, using the image plugin within robotask to do the following list of actions:
load image
resize and crop image
add an overlay.png on top
save that image to another folder

From what I understand you need to save and open the image after every action.
But it would be nice to do that inline, one action after the other and only save once.

Thank you for your advice,
Christian

Hi Christian

Yes, it is possible to perform the series of operations you mentioned using the Image Plugin in Robotask. Some image processing software may require you to save and reopen the image after each operation, while other software can perform the operations inline without the need to save the image after each step.

You need to check the specific functionality of the image processing plug-in you are using in Robotask to see if it supports inline processing without the need to save in between. If it does, you can perform the operations one after the other and then save the final image to another folder after all the modifications have been made.

I hope my suggestions will help you! :D :D

The best thing you can use is ImageMagick, this combination with Robotask is great.

I got that advice earlier and is indeed what I do but for simple operations like resize, crop, add watermark hoped to find a way to do that within the robotask actions.
Thank you though,

To me it looks like Robotask can easily perform all the actions in exactly the order you described. I maybe am missing some specifics you require but this worked on my laptop

I saved it only once at the end

This works, that's true. But I can imagine that the amount of compression in the pictures which Robotask modifies can be "not wanted".
