EMAIL SSL Fails

Hi,

I am having all sorts of issues connecting to my new email host.

Can you please advise what version SSL robotask uses for IMAP and POP.

Is there any way to update or change the SSL version for email - similar to the FTP options?

Thanks in advance.

Brad

What the error message do you receive?

I just tested POP3 and IMAP on Gmail mail server. It works.
POP3 and IMAP actions use TLS for secure connection

Also could you tell what mail server do you use? I need to have the test account for investigation.
If it's necessary write to me to email address oleg(at)robotask.com

I wrote this problem into our ToDo

Thanks = the error message depends ob the email client - it is not unique to Robotask,

Robotask error is:
E: 17/01/2018 10:49:30 PM: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
E: 17/01/2018 10:49:30 PM: An error occurred. Step #5 (POP3 Open).
E: 17/01/2018 10:49:30 PM: Task execution is aborted

There is no longer an urgency as I found a work around using stunnel.

In case any one else finds this thread
https://www.stunnel.org/
I needed to set my robotask server as localhost for it to work.
127.0.0.1 didn't work for me.

Using Eudora (I know it is an antique) I was also able to access gmail, but my email host provider failed using the same settings.
Same issue with robotask - as per the error above.

They use "SSL V3 and TLS 1.2 (this will be replaced by 1.3 soon)."

Thanks for your support.

The same issue here
I'm going crazy.
I'm trying to use an SMTP connection to send email from a forum.
The email server is enabled and you run through webmail.
When I try to send an email through the forum the problems begin.

Maybe I don't understand you...
How do you try to use SMTP to send from a forum? What forum?

If you are using google, try port 993 with SSL required.
I tried the recommended ports but it didn't work. (465 and 587)
So far it works without glitches.
