I tried to install the Robotask service in Server 2008 (x64) with no luck.
Is it possible to work around this?
Will the service function with Server 2008?

Try to log out of session, wait 5-10 seconds, and logon again. The icon must appear. Do you mean I should log out of Windows XP?
